Corwin GMC Oil Change Fundraiser and Show & Shine
Supporting Northern Nevada Families, Building Community, and Sharing Our Passion
For more than a decade, the Reno Corvette Club's annual Oil Change Fundraiser and Show & Shine has been one of our most meaningful traditions and successful community outreach events. Started by Reno Buick GMC and now proudly hosted by one of RCC's platinum sponsors, Corwin Buick GMC Cadillac Reno, this special day brings together RCC members, Corwin GMC technicians and staff, and families from the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation (NNCCF) for a celebration of community, friendship, compassion, and our shared passion for automobiles.
Over the years, this event has grown into far more than an oil change fundraiser. It has become a cherished RCC tradition that strengthens relationships within our club while providing critical support for local families impacted by childhood cancer. Through the partnership between RCC, Corwin GMC, and NNCCF, our members have helped create and event that truly makes a difference supporting the children of Northern Nevada.
For many members, the event also serves as the unofficial kickoff to the Corvette season. The oil change and vehicle inspection provide a great opportunity to prepare their Corvettes for the year's drives, rallies, shows, and club events. Members leave with fresh oil, professional insight from Crowin's technicians, and confidence that their Vettes are ready for another exciting travel season.
For a donation benefiting NNCCF, RCC members receive a complete oil change for their GM vehicle, provided by Corwin GMC technicians, oil, and filters. Members enjoy breakfast snacks provided by RCC, a delicious BBQ lunch hosted by Corwin GMC, and the unique opportunity to interact directly with dealership technicians while their vehicles are being serviced. During the event, members can ask questions, discuss maintenance concerns, and learn more about their vehicles directly from the professionals working on them.
The event is also one of RCC's premier social gatherings. With approximately 45 Corvettes on display and more than 60 members participating, it provides an ideal opportunity for longtime members and newcomers alike to meet, build friendships, exchange stories, and share their enthusiasm for Corvettes. The relaxed atmosphere, great food, and shared purpose create a welcoming environment that reflects the spirit of the Reno Corvette Club.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the day is welcoming children and families from the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation. RCC ambassadors provide personal tours of members Corvettes, answer questions, share stories about the cars, and create memorable experiences for the children. From taking selfies sitting behind the wheel to hearing the unmistakable sound of a Corvette engine, these moments often become the highlight of the day for many of our special guests.
The partnership between RCC, Corwin GMC, and NNCCF continues to grow stronger each year. Through member donations, Corwin GMC's generous matching contributions, and volunteer support, this event has become a significant source of funding for NNCCF's mission of supporting children and families facing the challenges of childhood cancer.
In 2026 alone, the event raised approximately $15,500 for NNCCF. Over the last four years, the fundraiser has generated more than $40,000 in support of Northern Nevada families, demonstrating the incredible generosity of Corwin GMC and RCC members.
While the fundraising totals are impressive, the true success of the event is measured in the smiles of the children, the connections made between families and club members, the friendships strengthened within RCC, and the lasting impact created through more than a decade of community service and support.
The Reno Corvette Club is proud of this longstanding tradition and grateful for the continued partnership of Corwin Buick GMC Cadillac Reno and the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation. Together, we have built an event that reflects the very best of RCC; friendship, charitable giving, and sharing our passion for Corvettes.
More than ten years strong, this annual event continues to demonstrate that when RCC members come together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of Northern Nevada families while enjoying great cars, great food, lasting friendships, and preparing our Corvettes for another memorable year of RCC adventures.
